The Blogging Environment. #1 in a series
I think it was Little Miss Moi who started this game of blog tag.
I move around a lot, but many posts are emanating from the 15th floor of an apartment block on the Petrogradskaya in Novgorod Veliky.
On a clear day, you can see the Power Station.
This rear apartment view highlights the Russian approach to ‘zoning’. In many Russian towns, tall apartment blocks on the main roads lead you to believe that you are in a residential area. In fact, the tall apartments just cover up all the industrial vomit behind.
I took many creative photos from this balcony, such as: ‘Sunset Over The Lada Repair Shop’. But probably, the art world isn’t ready for them just yet.

One of my favorites is “sheep grazing in industrial ruin.”
As it happens, CB, there is indeed a dairy amongst the Novgorod brick factories and used car lots.
Did you ever visit Uncle Pasha’s ‘Misery Travel’ site?
http://www.unclepasha.com/travel_russia_misery/misery_tourism.htm
He describes Russia as: ‘this land of . . . ‘battered women and endlessly crying children, ragged cats, three-legged dogs and collective farm cows covered in a thick layer of dirt, all plodding about under high-voltage power lines between fallen over reinfoced concrete fences in the shadow of smokestacks.’
That fairly approximates to my view from the balcony in Novgorod. But you’re handier with a camera than I am, CB, so maybe you can get the livestock in there somewhere.
Dear copydude. Wow, what a clear picture on such a pretty day. The exhaust from the power station doesn’t look threatening at all, merely like it’s contributing to the clouds. Which I guess, it is… Despite your protestations, you do seem a rather dab hand with the camera.
