Nashi Kids Bash Dollar
The Nashi kids hit Kaliningrad at the weekend with their ‘Hunt The Dollar’ spectacle.
The Nashi sweep into town dressed in 500 rouble notes. They spread good news about a strong rouble. Then they set off on a hunt to flush out any dollars left in Kaliningrad. The dollar is going down the toilet, they explain to passers by.
Time for a search and destroy mission against the dollar.
The roublists capture a greenback. Washington’s weakness is exposed.
Comrades are united in their love of the rouble.
The town’s reactions to the Nashi show were mixed. Some found it bizarre. Others wondered who put the kids up to it and whether they were paid. But on the whole it gets a much warmer reception than the Nashi’s other recent stunts.
The kids and the costumes were really quite amusing, while the strong rouble message is obviously good for Russian self-esteem. As someone said: ‘That was a good demo. Only the dollar got beaten up’.
