I’ve been travelling rather than blogging lately.  Of course, still down that same old dirt road to Kaliningrad.

 It’s easy to forget that the world’s most concrete city is surrounded by nature conservation areas. After 70 years of communism, even the wild life has forgotten. Local Soviet birds make their homes on high rise concrete piles like everyone else.  

Thanks to all for the mail and recent comments while I’ve been on a nature ramble along the Kurshkaya Kosa. (Curonian Spit.) Now I’m back in the city I promise to catch up with replies. But please be patient. The site has just been updated to a new version of Wordpress and it’s a bit buggy at the moment, which isn’t so easy to fix on the road. Proper links and sidebars will soon re-appear in the course of my 5 year plan.
