Around St. Petersburg In 360 degrees
Panoramas are great. If you like to mind travel to places on the net, there’s no better way of virtually being there.
I was very impressed with the collection of panoramas on St. Petersburg com. It reminded me just how far you can walk around in this vast, spread out city and why your feet always hurt at the end of the day.
At this site you’ll find a whole lot of virtual 360 degree tours converted to QuickTime. There are virtual tours of the city as well as interiors of revolutionary haunts like the Blockade Museum.
You can make your own panoramas of course with any old camera. ArcSoft has a thing called ‘Panorama Maker‘ which will stitch together your own sequential pictures. I used it to flatten out the examples above to a mere 180 degrees.
